The Russian National Junior Team emerged victorious in the 2012 SUBWAY Super Series with a 3-2-1 record over the CHL winning by a 10-8 margin in points.

The 2012 win marks the second series victory for the Russians in the 10-year history of the event, last winning in 2010 before they captured gold at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo.

Jonathan Huberdeau (Saint John Sea Dogs) of Team QMJHL finished the series first in scoring with five points in two games.  Mikhail Naumenkov, Maxim Shalunov, Andrei Sigarev, and Nail Yakupov all finished with four points in six games for Russia each scoring two goals and two assists.  Ty Rattie (Portland Winterhawks) led Team WHL with a goal and an assist in one game played, while Ryan Strome (Niagara IceDogs) led Team OHL with a goal and an assist in two games played.  Click here for Player Stats.

Andrei Makarov (Saskatoon Blades) was the top goaltender in the series with a 1-0-1 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .966.  Click here Goalie Stats.

57 NHL Drafted players competed in the series across the CHL's three leagues including 20 first round picks.

The series is used as an evaluation for Canada's National Junior Team that will compete in the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship to be played in Ufa, Russia in December.  Hockey Canada will announce its final Selection Camp Roster in early December.
