Edmonton, AB - The 5th annual Dodge Teddy Bear Toss played host to over 10,000 Oil Kings fans on Saturday night as the Oil Kings tallied a tight 2-1 win over the visiting Calgary Hitmen on Saturday at Rexall Place. The win extended the Oil Kings franchise best winning streak to an amazing 11 games and pushed their home winning streak to 15.

The Hitmen opened the scoring in the first on a power play and looked to push the pace early. Just when it appeared that the Teddy Bear goal would have to wait until the second period, Mitch Moroz scooped a loose puck in the slot and tucked home a backhand to bring forth a flurry of 6600 stuffed toys from the rafters of Rexall Place with 14 seconds left in the first. The 6600 toy total donated to 630 CHED Santa's Anonymous set a new Oil Kings record. The Oil Kings would like to thank Dodge, Shaw Media, Global Edmonton, the Edmonton Sun and the Rainbow Society for their support of this great event.

Edmonton came out swinging in the second period and finally it was T.J. Foster who stepped up and wired a point shot far side for his 16th of the season and 7th power play marker to make it a 2-1 game, a lead the Oil Kings would carry into the third. This would go on to become the eventual game winner as Oil Kings went 1 for 7 on the night while holding the Hitmen to 1 for 8 with the man advantage. Laurent Brossoit posted 21 saves for his WHL co-leading 20th win of the season.

Following the game, a live auction for some of the Oil Kings Teddy Bear Toss Jerseys was hosted by Derek Allen of JOE FM and raised over $3000 in support of 630 CHED Santa's Anonymous. When combined with $5000 from 50/50 sales, the additional funds from the silent auction for the rest of the Teddy Bear jerseys as well as the Chuck A Puck fundraiser the Oil Kings helped raise nearly $20,000 on top of the 6600 stuffed toys for this great cause.
