Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings are set to open the 2012-13 Season with a "banner" night. Fans can be a part of history as the Oil Kings raise their first WHL Championship banner to the rafters of Rexall Place. Banner Raising Opening night is set for Thursday, September 20th - 7PM as the defending WHL Champions welcome the 2011 Champion Kootenay Ice.
The first 7500 fans at the game will receive a commemorative replica WHL Championship Mini Banner.
This game will also mark the official start to the 2012 WHL Opening Weekend and the 2012-13 Season. The game will be broadcast LIVE on SHAW TV starting at 7:00 pm (MT).
All Oil Kings regular season single game tickets go on sale this Friday, August 31st at 10:00 a.m. This includes all tickets for the Banner Raising Home Opener Thursday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. against the Kootenay Ice.
