GAME DAY: Oil Kings take on Hurricanes at Rexall PlaceJan 10, 2013 - 15:53 MST
Edmonton, AB - The new look Oil Kings will take to the ice Friday as they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes. This game could mark Griffin Reinhart's final Oil Kings game at Rexall Place as he is expected to depart Saturday for New York Islanders training camp. Reinhart would be one of six players and staff returning from international competition. David Musil & Edgars Kulda both played for their respective countries at the World Juniors in Russia while Dysin Mayo, Associate Coach Steve Hamilton and Athletic Therapist Brian Cheeseman will be returning from the U17 World Hockey Challenge. Slovakian defenseman Martin Gernat has been cleared for contact and is also expected to return to action sometime in the next week.
Thus far in 2012-13 the Oil Kings have posted a record of 3-1-0-0 vs the Hurricanes. The Oil Kings took the first two meetings of the season with a 3-0 win on September 26th in Lethbridge and a 4-3 win in Edmonton on December 2nd. Edmonton suffered their only loss of the season to the Canes in a 6-2 loss in Lethbridge on December 5th. In their last meeting – the Oil Kings skated to a 4-0 win on January 3rd. After meeting six times in the 2011-12 Regular Season - the Oil Kings won the season series over the Hurricanes with a 5-1-0-0 record.
