Regina, SK - Keegan Lowe had a record breaking goal and goaltender Tristan Jarry made 24 saves as the Oil Kings skated to a 7-0 shutout of the Pats on Thursday. The victory was Edmonton’s tenth in a row as they improved their overall record to 40-11-2-3. The defending WHL Champions are 13 points ahead of Calgary for top spot in the Eastern Conference and now rank second in the entire WHL.
Lowe's 13th of the year set a new Oil Kings single season record for goals by a defenseman. The win was also Jarry's sixth shutout of the year as he added to his own single season club record. His six shutouts tie him with Portland's Mac Carruth and Saskatoon's Andrey Makarov for the league lead.
The Oil Kings league leading power play was an amazing 4 for 7 on the night while the number one ranked penalty kill was a perfect 5 for 5. Seven different players scored goals for the Oil Kings including: Lowe, Henrik Samuelsson, Michael St.Croix, Martin Gernat, Dylan Wruck, T.J. Foster and Mitch Moroz.
St.Croix's WHL leading 18th power play goal of the season matched his Oil Kings club record set in the 2011-12 campaign. The New York Rangers' prospect has 66 points this season and is currently on an 11 game point scoring streak. The Oil Kings are the only team in the league with four players currently in the Top 20 of the WHL scoring race. Six Oil Kings had multi point games including defenseman Cody Corbett who tallied three assists.

This will be the third of four games between the Wheat Kings and Oil Kings in 2012-13.
