Edmonton, AB - Michael St.Croix led the way with two goals and an assist as the Oil Kings notched a 5-2 come from behind win over the Victoria Royals on Sunday.  St.Croix and sophomore Curtis Lazar became the first Oil Kings this season to reach the 30 goal plateau.  The Oil Kings maintained a seven point lead over the Hitmen for first place in the Eastern Conference.  Edmonton's record improves to 42-12-2-3 on the season as they trail the Portland Winterhawks by eight points in the race for the WHL regular season title.

Edmonton fell behind 2-0 in the first period with the Royals’ Jamie Crooks and Steven Hodges opening the scoring.  But the Oil Kings would respond in the second with a greasy goal from Travis Ewanyk.  The power play marker was the fire-starter for the Oil Kings as they charged to a 3-2 lead with goals from St.Croix and David Musil.

Lazar and St.Croix's team leading 30th goals of the season came within 1:03 of each other in the third as the Oil Kings cruised to the 5-2 win.  That’s back to back 30-goal seasons for St. Croix.   Edmonton is the highest scoring team in the Eastern Conference and has allowed the least number of goals against in the entire WHL.

The three point night gave St.Croix 299 career WHL points as he looks to become the first Oil Kings player to reach 300 in the modern era.  Edmonton out shot Victoria 38-19 in the game and 19-5 in the second period alone.  The Oil Kings power play went 1 for 5 while holding the Royals to 0 for 3 with the man advantage.
