Lethbridge, AB - The Oil Kings overcame penalty trouble and a hot goaltender to pull out a 3-0 victory over the Hurricanes on Wednesday night. Curtis Lazar notched the game winner and Tristan Jarry posted his first WHL shut out as the Oil Kings improved their record to a perfect 3-0-0-0. Edmonton out shot the Canes 60-20 on the night as Lethbridge goaltender Ty Rimmer had a great performance to keep things close.

For the third straight game the Oil Kings opened the scoring in the first 90 seconds of play. Lazar fought off a check and notched his fourth goal of the season to give Edmonton the early 1-0 lead. The 1st round NHL draft prospect notched his first hat trick of the season in the Oil Kings 6-2 win over Red Deer on Sunday.

Minutes later Keegan Lowe took a decision in his second fight of the season. Lowe would throw down with Canes sophomore Jaimen Yakubowski just minutes before Mason Geertsen took on the Canes Michael Sofillas. Edmonton played a solid road period carrying a 1-0 lead into the second.

Things continued to heat up in the next period as Brandon Baddock received a game misconduct after taking exception to a hit by rookie Reid Duke. Edmonton's penalty troubles continued as a high stick by Stephen Shmoorkoff would result in nearly two minutes of 5 on 3 hockey for Lethbridge.

Jarry answered when called upon as the Oil Kings would go 5 for 5 on the penalty kill. The Oil Kings goaltender would finish the game with 20 saves en route to his first win of the season and first WHL shut out. TJ Foster would finally add the 2-0 goal on a third period power play with the 51st shot of the night. Henrik Samuelsson would add his second of the season late to make it a 3-0 final.
