Edmonton, AB - The records continue to fall for the Oil Kings as they posted a 6-0 shutout win over the Prince George Cougars on Family Day at Rexall Place.  With a crowd of 8081, the Oil Kings set a new club attendance record with 238,479 fans in 33 games this season. This eclipsed last season's record of 231,160 set over 36 games.  Michael St.Croix notched a goal and two assists as he became the first Oil Kings player in the modern era to score over 300 career WHL points.

Laurent Brossoit made 20 saves to add to his Oil Kings record 10 career WHL shutouts. Brossoit and goaltender Tristan Jarry have tied the Portland Winterhawks for the WHL lead with a combined 11 shutouts this season.  Edmonton has allowed the least number of goals against in the WHL.  The Oil Kings have held opponents to two or fewer goals in 41 of their 60 games this season.

Curtis Lazar lit the lamp twice to take over the team lead with 32 goals this season.  After a slow start, Lazar has now tallied 24 goals and seven assists in his last 33 games.  11 different Oil Kings found the score sheet with David Musil, Henrik Samuelsson and T.J. Foster scoring the other Edmonton goals.

The Oil Kings improved their overall record to 43-12-2-3 and 25-5-1-2 within the friendly confines of Rexall Place.  Edmonton has a nine point lead over Calgary for top spot in the WHL Eastern Conference.  With 12 games remaining the Oil Kings trail the Portland Winterhawks by six points for first place in the entire WHL.
