Turning Heads...

Edmonton, AB - The finals of the 2012 Rookie Camp tournament are set as the undefeated Team Red will take on the red hot 2-1 Team Black. Teams Blue and White faceoff first thing in the morning at 8AM, while the finals are set for an 11 AM start at the Jubilee Rec Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. Team Red is led by the likes of Dysin Mayo, Andrew Koep and Riley Simpson while Team Black includes Aaron Irving, Brandon Ralph and Trevor Posch.

Team Red continued their dominance in round robin play as they rolled to a 3-0 tournament record. Red over came playing the late game on Friday to pull out a 2-1 win over Team Blue in Saturday's first game. Ryan VanGenderen tallied a pair of goals while playing on a line with Simpson. With guest coaches Stephane Legault and Mitch Moroz the Reds then continued to pour it on as they handed Team White a shutout loss in the evening game. Goaltenders Andrew Shaw and Nicholas Holben combining for their second shutout of the tourney.

Team Black made huge strides on moving day as they posted a pair of wins following a 7-0 loss on Friday night. Celebrity guest coach and Oil Kings play by play man Corey Graham stepped in to the coaches chair for Team Black as they tallied a lop sided 6-1 win to start the day. They then followed this up with an impressive 2-0 win over Team Blue. Tyler Gutenberg and Tanner Loucks combined for the shutout while Ralph added his third of the tourney.
